The only reason the Union “fought to abolish slavery” was because it was wreaking havoc on their economy by not allowing white workers to compete for jobs and actually be able to pay for goods that were being produced.
Also, slavery was never officially abolished. The 13th Amendment allows for anyone charged with a crime to be considered a slave. The states basically made being black illegal and prisons became the new plantations. So yeah, white people have never given a fuck about our liberties or whatever bullshit you’re trying to get at. If they did, Jim Crow wouldn’t have lasted for an entire century.
Thanks for trying. We still hate white people.

Firstly, even though the overall reason for the Civil War wasn’t to end slavery, the fact still remains that many of those who fought and died during it did so believing they were fighting for the freedoms of black slaves.
Secondly, I don’t give a flying fucking shit who you hate or don’t hate, honey.  Keep making comments like that, because it only proves the point I’ve been making ALL ALONG — when it comes to racism, the majority of blacks are the biggest perpetuators.  If you’re looking for an apology for something you never suffered and this generation of whites were never guilty of, you can fuck right off and look somewhere else.

Wait let me make sure I have this straight. We should revere the soldiers of the Union because they thought they were fighting for our freedom even though they really weren’t? Then at the same time we’re thanking these dead people, we need to remember that history has absolutely no bearing on modern day hierarchical power structures and the wealth gap between whites and people of color? I guess multigenerational poverty has nothing to do with white supremacist-enforced economic deprivation? Hmmm.
The cognitive dissonance you people have is astounding. We should only look to the past to thank white people huh? Get the fuck outta here.
